Behavior Policy

I have high expectations for my students in regard to behavior.  I expect that they follow our classroom and school rules.  On occasion, students do not meet this expectation.

The behavior management system that I use is a Positive Reinforcement system.  I award students who display ABC behavior throughout our time together in Room 304 with a sticker.  The stickers are kept on an incentive chart in the classroom.  Once the student has earned 10 stickers, they are able to choose a prize from Ms. Merritt’s Prize Box!  Students who do not display ABC behavior are not awarded with a sticker for that day.  On occasion, some students will lose recess, get notes home, or get a phone call home due to their behavior in my classroom.

My students seem to respond well to this system, and try very hard to earn their sticker each day!
